The project will eliminate the existing bottleneck at the start of the Parade Road underpass, where traffic movement towards Gurugram is currently restricted due to a Metro pillar located at the carriageway’s edge. To create additional road space, NHAI is relocating a drain, a peripheral road, and part of the Air Force Station’s boundary. The project is expected to be completed within six months.
As part of the development, a new foot overbridge (FOB) will be constructed near Subroto Park Air Force Station at the start of the RTR flyover to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility. The project will also feature an upgraded drainage system to enable efficient disposal of rain and surface water.
In line with NHAI’s focus on sustainable construction, the initiative includes tree transplantation and the use of anti-smoke guns and water sprinklers to reduce dust and emissions. Traffic marshals, tow-away cranes, and safety cones will be deployed to manage vehicle flow during execution.
Once completed, the widened section will significantly improve traffic movement in the National Capital Region and strengthen Delhi–Gurugram connectivity, benefiting commuters and local residents alike.
