The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) intends to start and proceed with the suggested transport infrastructure development projects that have been in the works now that the elections are concluded. These consist of the pedestrian subway at the Salt Lake Karunamoyee crossing, the Bypass to New Town flyover, and the conversion of two Bypass culverts into pedestrian subways. For the ambitious 6 km projected flyover that will connect the EM Bypass from Metropolitan to Mahishbathan, which borders New Town, KMDA is anticipated to release tenders shortly. The flyover DPR was produced by KMDA beforehand and then turned over to the state public works department (PWD). KMDA was later brought back to carry out the flyover project. For this fiscal year, the state has allotted Rs 1.5 billion for employment. According to the most recent version of the DPR, the four-lane flyover would begin near the Metropolitan Crossing and travel over Chingrighata, the Salt Lake Bypass, Sector V, and Mahishbathan. It will also traverse over a very tiny area of wetlands before coming to a conclusion at New Town's street number 2222, which borders Mahishbathan. Regarding the other projects that are planned for the EM Bypass, the authorities have decided to turn some of the abandoned culverts into pedestrian subways so that commuters may cross the arteries without difficulty.
