In a social media post, Gadkari mentioned that 29 National Highway projects covering 545 km in Nagaland were assessed during the meeting. He emphasised the importance of accelerating infrastructure development in the region while ensuring sustainability and efficiency. Gadkari pointed out that these projects would significantly improve connectivity, foster local economic growth, and contribute to the broader integration of the region into India’s national development plans.
He also highlighted the overarching goal of infrastructure growth, stating that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Nagaland's highways are becoming key drivers of growth and connectivity, setting the stage for future prosperity. The review was part of a broader initiative by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways aimed at improving connectivity throughout the North-Eastern region. On the first day of the review, Gadkari oversaw various projects across four North-Eastern states, underlining the critical role these highways play in the region’s economic growth and integration.
