“We are pleased to confirm the sanction of Rs 7.47 billion for the 7.24 km stretch from the Margao bypass to Cuncolim on NH-66,” said Gadkari.
The highway project, approved under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), includes the construction of a 4.45 km six-lane flyover to reduce urban congestion and enhance road safety.
This project is vital for the Mumbai-Kanyakumari corridor, connecting Margao and Cuncolim while passing through Navelim, Dramapur, Sirlim, Chinchinim, and Panzarconi in Salcete Taluka.
“It’s an essential link between Margao and southern Goa, expected to reduce congestion, improve road safety, and lower accident rates in South Goa District,” Gadkari added.
BJP Goa Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Tanavade expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Gadkari for their leadership in transforming Goa’s infrastructure.
Tanavade also credited Gadkari’s efforts in improving connectivity and modernizing road infrastructure for the state’s ongoing progress.
“Under the BJP government since 2014, Goa has seen unprecedented development, with infrastructure projects making it a model of sustainable development in India,” he concluded.
