The Mizoram government is exploring the construction of a ropeway and cable car facilities connecting Aizawl and Lengpui to boost tourism and improve connectivity, according to an official statement. Chief Minister Lalduhoma led a meeting to discuss the feasibility of the proposed project, which would also integrate the Sairang railway station. The Aizawl-Sairang railway station-Lengpui ropeway project aims to enhance tourism development and provide better public transport links between Aizawl, the state capital, and Lengpui, where the state’s only airport is located. During the meeting, officials discussed the potential execution of the project by the state’s Tourism Department or through the Aizawl Sustainable Urban Transport Project (ASUTP), which is currently being implemented by the Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation (UD&PA) department with external aid. The meeting was attended by various officials, including Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Minister K.
