The Mizoram government is contemplating the construction of a ropeway and cable-car services between Aizawl and Lengpui to promote tourism and enhance connectivity, an official statement revealed. Chief Minister Lalduhoma led a meeting to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed project, which will also connect the Sairang railway station, the statement mentioned. The ropeway project, which will link Aizawl, Sairang railway station, and Lengpui, is designed to boost tourism and improve public transport between the state capital and Lengpui, where Mizoram's only airport is situated, according to the statement.

The meeting explored the possibility of executing the project through either the state's tourism department or the Aizawl Sustainable Urban Transport Project (ASUTP), an initiative managed by the Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation (UD&PA) department, the statement added. Attendees included Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Minister K. Sapdanga, Tourism Minister Lalrinpuii, Chief Minister's finance adviser TBC Lalvenchhunga, and various officials.
