MLA of Udhampur East, Ranbir Singh Pathania, inaugurated the macadamisation of the Sunal–Krowa road on 15 June, marking a long?awaited improvement for approximately 1,000 residents in this remote region.

The project, with an investment of Rs 698,000, aims to transform a deteriorated route into a durable, all-weather macadam surface. The improved road is expected to vastly enhance accessibility and living standards for local communities.

During the event, Pathania also inspected a nearby motorable bridge currently under construction, which will ensure uninterrupted connectivity during the monsoon season. He praised the quality and pace of work and reiterated that robust road infrastructure is a cornerstone of regional development.

Pathania outlined several forthcoming projects including the widening of Dhar Road, the Vishal–Rehna bridge, and enhanced connectivity between Samba and Mansar. He emphasised that these initiatives are designed to boost transportation, economic activity, and access to essential amenities in Udhampur East.

Addressing local challenges, he instructed officials to repair broken hand pumps and ensure water supply via tankers. He also criticised shortcomings in the Ritti Water Supply Scheme and demanded an inquiry into poor materials, faulty piping, and implementation delays.

Patania urged the Agriculture Department to bolster farmer outreach and support, while encouraging the Horticulture Department to promote modern practices and diversify rural incomes. A large gathering of community members, including village heads and ex-sarpanches, attended the ceremony.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to delivering infrastructure and basic services to every corner of Udhampur East, with a focus on enhancing connectivity, water availability, and livelihoods in the region.
