Uttar Pradesh is set to witness a major infrastructure boost as the Rs 15.27 billion ($183 million) Badaun-Bareilly four-lane highway project moves closer to execution. Approved by Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, the project aims to enhance regional connectivity and logistics efficiency.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has submitted the proposal, and work is expected to begin soon. The 38.5-km highway will include four bypasses and a widened 10-meter road, requiring the acquisition of 87 hectares of land. Officials estimate the project will take around five to six months to complete.

Additionally, NHAI will construct a four-lane road from Jhumka Tiraha to the bypass via Chaubari in Bareilly to improve last-mile connectivity. While the budget is being sanctioned, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the forest department is pending.

Meanwhile, NHAI has launched the Rajmargyatra App to tackle encroachments along national highways, ensuring smooth traffic flow and enhanced road safety.
