Speaking to reporters, Pawar said that while many residents appreciated the bridge work, others raised issues related to riverbank maintenance and stray dogs in the area. He assured citizens that their feedback would be taken seriously.
“Some appreciated the construction, while others suggested improving the riverbank and resolving the stray dog problem. These issues can’t be understood by sitting in the state secretariat — only by visiting the site and engaging with people can one understand their difficulties,” Pawar said, adding that corrective action would be taken based on local feedback.
Pawar noted that his visit was originally scheduled for Pimpri-Chinchwad, but he was advised by the PCMC Commissioner to first inspect the Tanpura Bridge project before heading there.
Earlier, on 11 October, the Deputy Chief Minister conducted a review of the service road work at Warje along the Pune–Bengaluru National Highway, assessing the road quality and traffic flow.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Pawar wrote: “Inspected the work of the service road in the Warje area along the Pune–Bengaluru National Highway today. During this inspection, a review was conducted of all aspects — from road quality to traffic convenience.”
He added that he also met residents at the entrance of New Ahire Village (Warje Malwadi, Pune) to hear their concerns and discuss various development initiatives, instructing officials to act promptly on the issues raised.
Pawar emphasised that continuous on-site inspections are essential to ensure quality and accountability in urban development projects across Pune and its surrounding areas.
