The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has ordered an urgent safety audit for the Aroor–Thuravoor elevated corridor project in Kerala following concerns over construction safety. Officials said the review will examine structural integrity, worksite safety measures and compliance with established standards.
A technical team has been directed to inspect the NH-66 stretch and submit a detailed report, outlining corrective actions wherever required. NHAI has stressed that safety protocols must be implemented strictly to avoid risks during ongoing construction.
The agency reiterated that ensuring safe, high-quality execution of national highway projects remains a top priority and that any lapses identified during the audit will be addressed immediately.
