The study found that NESIDS road developments address immediate connectivity needs while delivering long-term socio-economic gains by improving trade, tourism and regional mobility. The initiatives also align with Sustainable Development Goals 9 and 11, supporting resilient infrastructure and sustainable urban development.
Since 2017, twenty road projects have been sanctioned for Assam, of which fourteen are now complete. No project in the state is delayed due to land acquisition or clearance issues. Implementation timelines vary depending on geography, terrain, land availability, statutory approvals, financial closure and other site-specific factors.
