The Letter of Acceptance was issued on 9 December 2025 and covers the operation and collection of user fees at the Kaza Fee Plaza on the Chilakaluripet–Vijayawada section of NH-16. The contract applies to an 82.5-kilometre stretch between kilometre markers 355 and 437.5, one of the busiest corridors linking northern Andhra Pradesh with major industrial and port clusters further south. The order was awarded through a competitive e-tender process.
In a regulatory filing, the company said the scope of work includes toll operations as well as the upkeep and maintenance of adjacent toilet blocks, in line with mandated responsibilities.
Highway Infrastructure clarified that the order has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not constitute a related-party transaction. The company added that neither the promoter nor the promoter group has any interest in the awarding authority.
The contract is valid for one year, during which the company will manage tolling operations on a critical section of NH-16, a major artery of India’s east-coast economic corridor and an important freight route for agricultural produce, construction materials and port-bound cargo.
