Railway sources indicated that a steel girder for the portion of the bridge above the tracks near Trichy Junction railway station had been procured and that one of the two spans for the bowstring bridge, modelled on the new Kollidam bridge, had been brought in from Katpadi. They added that assembling and welding operations had begun and that another span was expected soon. Heavy machinery, including a crane, was to be mobilised to place the span on supporting columns.
Concurrently, the State Highways Department accelerated construction of retaining walls and approach ramps for the RoB's multiple arms, focusing on timely completion of earthworks and concrete works. Work sequencing was adjusted to allow parallel progress on different arms and to reduce dependency on single critical tasks. The combined approach by SHD and SR aimed to maintain momentum and mitigate further schedule slippage ahead of June.
The project team assessed that opening Stage II would ease traffic congestion around Trichy Junction and improve connectivity for commuters and freight movements in the city. Contractors were instructed to maintain safety and quality controls while working to the compressed timetable. Authorities indicated that close monitoring and contingency arrangements were in place to address any remaining supply or logistical challenges before formal commissioning.
