Under Package One, M/S Patel Infrastructure Limited will construct a 40-kilometre stretch between Rameshwar and Bilipada that includes 12.4 kilometres of service roads on both sides, two interchanges, one railway overbridge and 10 minor bridges. The design also provides for 142 culverts, one wayside amenity and seven elevated underpasses. Eight additional structures comprising VUP, LVUP and SVUP are included within the contract scope.
Package Two has been awarded to M/S VRC Constructions (India) Limited and covers a 30-kilometre section from Bilipada to Govindpur with seven point two kilometres of service roads on both sides, three interchanges, 11 minor bridges and 90 culverts. The contract also includes one wayside amenity, three elevated underpasses, three VUPs, six LVUPs and three SVUPs. Package Three, assigned to M/S HG Infra Engineering Limited, spans 40 kilometres from Govindpur to Tangi near Bandola Toll Plaza and provides for 10 kilometres of service and slip roads, one interchange, 23 minor bridges and 69 culverts.
On completion the ring road is expected to reduce congestion in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Khordha, lower logistics costs and create thousands of employment opportunities while improving road safety and reducing travel time for pilgrims and other road users. The project is anticipated to stimulate economic growth and to promote more environmentally sustainable transportation. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has positioned the scheme as a strategic addition to the national highway network that will support long-term urban and regional expansion.
