Haryana plans a new six-lane, 33 km corridor to strengthen road connectivity between Gurgaon and Jhajjar, with a bypass around Farrukhnagar announced during the state budget presentation by the chief minister. The route will link the Harsaru bypass on the Gurgaon–Pataudi Road at Wazirpur on National Highway 352W with Jhajjar on National Highway 352, creating a faster connection between western Haryana and the National Capital Region (NCR). The project is intended to reduce travel times and relieve congestion on existing stretches.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has initiated the appointment of a consultant to prepare a detailed project report that will determine alignment, costs and technical specifications. The current road between Wazirpur and Farrukhnagar remains a narrow two-lane stretch that struggles with rising traffic volumes, and the new corridor is designed to address these constraints while linking with NH?352 to improve movement towards the Dwarka Expressway.

In parallel, NHAI is nearing completion of an upgrade to the 43 km Gurgaon–Pataudi–Rewari highway, National Highway 352W, in a project estimated at Rs nine bn. The corridor has opened partially and full completion is targeted by June, and officials expect the enhanced network to ease pressure on the Delhi–Jaipur Expressway and improve safety.

Work on the Gurgaon–Pataudi–Rewari upgrade began in November 2021 after a foundation stone was laid in July 2020 by the Union road transport minister, and construction faced delays due to regulatory hurdles and environmental clearance matters before resuming following a Supreme Court order in April 2024. The next steps include finalising the detailed project report for the Gurgaon–Jhajjar corridor and securing clearances and tender processes required to begin construction.
