As per NHAI, approximately 10 hectares of land will be developed during 2026–27 into a Bird Park and an Aviary Park designed to enhance ecological value and provide nature-based experiences for visitors. The scheme forms a component of NHAI’s Oxygen Park initiative and is expected to promote biodiversity conservation alongside road infrastructure. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 340 million (Rs 340 mn), which will cover construction, landscaping and operational systems.
The planned park will follow an aviary-based theme with walk-through aviaries, specialised enclosures for parrots and tropical birds, ground-level protection barriers and habitat development using native vegetation to encourage local species. Facilities will include a dedicated bird hospital and clinic, quarantine units for newly introduced birds and specialised nurseries for hatchlings, along with kitchen facilities for bird feed, temperature-controlled feed storage and water treatment and recycling systems for bird ponds. Waste management arrangements will incorporate biodigesters.
Visitor amenities will comprise an information and education centre, ticketing counters, a souvenir shop and a temporary or semi-permanent cafeteria, together with public conveniences and well designed pathways and hardscaping to facilitate access. Security provisions will feature perimeter fencing, security booths and closed circuit television surveillance. Authorities expect the development to create recreational opportunities, raise public awareness about biodiversity and serve as a model for integrating ecological considerations within highway projects.
