The scheme comprises a 15 km four?lane bypass linking Rani?Ka?Sarai village to the Purvanchal Expressway and will form part of a continuous ring road around the city. The scope includes one flyover, one railway overbridge, two interchanges and two vehicular underpasses, together with eight light vehicular underpasses and three minor bridges. The design also provides for ancillary works to integrate the new carriageway with existing highways and local access roads.
The project will develop service roads of 11.6 km and nine km on both sides and a seven point five km slip road to facilitate local movement and last?mile connectivity. Construction activity will focus on improving traffic movement and reducing congestion within urban stretches while enhancing regional connectivity for freight and passenger movement. Enhanced road geometry and grade separations are expected to support faster logistics movement across eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Authorities anticipate that the bypass will relieve inner?city traffic and stimulate economic activity by improving access to the Purvanchal Expressway and nearby industrial corridors.
