He will inaugurate the Himmatnagar-Khed Brahma new line, a 55 kilometre route built for Rs 4820 mn, which is expected to substantially improve connectivity in Sabarkantha district by enabling faster and more affordable travel and directly linking the area with Ahmedabad and Udaipur. Improved rail access is anticipated to enhance access to healthcare and education and to create new livelihood opportunities for local communities.
In addition, the Kanalus-Jamnagar doubling project, a 27 kilometre capacity augmentation built for Rs 2570 mn, and the Gandhidham-Adipur multitracking scheme, an 11 kilometre upgrade completed for Rs 1520 mn, will be dedicated to the nation. These works will facilitate smoother and faster train operations, strengthen freight handling efficiency and improve connectivity to key industrial hubs and ports, including Deendayal Port, thereby reducing transit time and lowering logistics costs.
The Prime Minister will also flag off a new train service from Khedbrahma to Ahmedabad via Himmatnagar to provide direct daily connectivity that is expected to make commuting more convenient and affordable. The service and infrastructure upgrades are projected to stimulate local economic activity and tourism while supporting farmers and industries through better market access. The initiatives form part of a broader strategy to transform Indian Railways into a modern, efficient and growth-oriented engine of the economy by strengthening last-mile connectivity and improving passenger experience.
