The Telangana government has approved a major road infrastructure project in Hyderabad comprising a six-lane bi-directional flyover and two three-lane uni-directional underpasses to reduce congestion between Miyapur, Allwyn X Roads, Hafeezpet and Bachupally. The six-lane flyover will run from Miyapur X Road to Allwyn X Road while a three-lane underpass will connect Hafeezpet to Miyapur and another three-lane underpass will link Bachupally to Allwyn X Roads. The project is part of the H-CITI initiative and aims to improve arterial connectivity in the city.

The contract was awarded to M/s Shivasatya Engineering Services Private Limited after it emerged as the lowest bidder in the tender process administered by the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation. The project will be taken up at a contract value of Rs 3.8445 billion (bn), converted from an indicated Rs 384.45 crore, with administrative approval earlier granted on an estimated cost of Rs 5.3 billion (bn) under the State Budget.

The Superintending Engineer of the Projects West Zone of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation invited tenders through the e-procurement system and a government committee completed technical evaluation on 10 February. After reviewing the bids, the committee recommended awarding the contract to the lowest bidder and the municipal body proceeded to issue the work order. The procurement and evaluation followed standard procedures intended to ensure transparency and competitive pricing.

Authorities expect the scheme to ease traffic flow on arterial routes and reduce travel times for commuters and goods movement in the western suburbs. Construction scheduling, traffic management during works and coordination with local agencies will be managed by the municipal corporation and relevant departments. The project is now set to move into implementation subject to contract formalities and mobilisation by the contractor.
