The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a letter of award to M/s Maruti Infracreation Pvt. Ltd. for construction of underpasses and flyovers at the Jaipur Bypass Junction on the Delhi–Jaipur–Ajmer Expressway (NH-48). The contract has been awarded under the engineering, procurement and construction mode at a cost of Rs 1306.5 million (mn). The contract is to be implemented by the awarded firm in line with NHAI specifications and project timelines.

The current 200 feet junction is a critical and high traffic intersection that facilitates movement between Delhi, Ajmer and urban neighbourhoods of Jaipur including Mansarovar, Shyam Nagar and Vaishali Nagar. High traffic volumes and densely populated residential areas around the junction have resulted in significant congestion due to intermixing of national highway and local traffic. Local commercial and commuter patterns frequently intersect with long distance movements, intensifying peak hour delay.

The project includes construction of two underpasses, one for traffic moving from Delhi to Mansarovar and another for traffic from Mansarovar towards Delhi, along with two flyovers to facilitate movement between Jaipur to Ajmer and Ajmer to Delhi. These grade separated structures will segregate local and through traffic and significantly reduce waiting time at the junction. The design aims to reduce conflict points, enable smoother and safer traffic flow and to address existing bottlenecks.

Upon completion, the upgrade is expected to enhance overall traffic efficiency, improve road safety and deliver substantial savings in travel time and fuel for commuters. The intervention is intended to strengthen urban mobility and ease congestion at the busy national highway intersection, contributing to improved connectivity along the NH-48 corridor in Rajasthan. Authorities anticipate measurable benefits for daily commuters and freight movement along the route.
