The Centre has approved an extension of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase III, providing additional time for completion of pending rural road projects and improving last-mile connectivity across villages.
The revised plan includes a higher budget allocation to accelerate works linking habitations, markets, schools and healthcare centres. Officials said the extension aims to complete unfinished stretches and strengthen rural infrastructure, while supporting economic activity and easier access in remote areas across states.
