Residents indicated that a sewer pipeline laid beneath the carriageway frequently crumbles, undermining the road base and causing sections to sink, and they connected the recurrent collapses to persistent subsurface decay. Local accounts stated that repair crews have returned to the site on multiple occasions but that the underlying pipeline problem has not been fully resolved. The recurring nature of the incidents suggests chronic instability beneath the roadway rather than isolated surface deterioration.
Some residents alleged that after the Bharatiya Janata Party formed the state government in Haryana in 2014, the then minister for the public works department, Rao Narbir Singh, expedited construction of the Gurugram-Sohna road without conducting adequate inspections, a claim connected by locals to the persistent defects. The past suspension of work during the flyover build and the sequence of subsequent sinkings have reinforced local concerns about construction quality and maintenance. The area remains cordoned off as safety and remedial assessments proceed.
