The longest corridor is the Nagpur-Chandrapur highway at 204.79 km, which will connect nine talukas across Nagpur and Chandrapur districts and be built with four lanes and seven interchanges, requiring 2,159 hectares of land. The Nagpur-Gondia route will run for 162.37 km through Nagpur, Bhandara and Gondia districts as a six-lane highway with nine interchanges and will require around 1,634 hectares.
The Bhandara-Gadchiroli highway will span 94.24 km across Bhandara, Gondia and Gadchiroli districts, be developed as a six-lane corridor with six interchanges and is expected to need about 1,185 hectares of land. The Navegaon More-Konsari to Surjagad road, at 85.76 km, will be a four-lane link requiring roughly 289 hectares. Officials identified the latter as important for mineral transport and suggested integrating it with the Samruddhi Mahamarg, the Mumbai-Nagpur expressway.
The total construction cost across the four projects is estimated at Rs 32,478 crore, which converts to Rs 324.78 bn for construction alone, while the overall project cost is Rs 51,906 crore, equivalent to Rs 519.06 bn, the balance accounting for land acquisition, utilities and ancillary expenses. Officials also directed a study on a proposed tunnel road to link western Maharashtra with the Konkan and asked for a detailed presentation on that scheme. The projects will be delivered by the MSRDC and are intended to bolster freight movement and regional development.
