The Government said it is working to decongest Delhi as part of a larger plan to improve ease of living and mobility. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inspected the DND–Faridabad–Sohna Access Controlled Highway Project, which will provide seamless access to Noida International Airport at Jewar and the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway. The project has a total length of approximately 59.063 km and an estimated cost of Rs 44,630 million (mn).

The corridor will link Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurugram and Sohna via a high-speed six-lane access-controlled highway. The Haryana public works department minister said the Delhi–Faridabad stretch of 30 km will reduce travel time to 20 minutes and that work on that section is complete. Extension of the route up to Jewar Airport is expected within a year.

The National Highways Authority of India said the project incorporates advanced engineering features and modern construction technologies. A key element is a 140 metre Network Arch Bridge designed with tied-arch technology and a crossed hanger arrangement to enhance structural strength, durability and seismic resilience. The corridor is intended to support high-speed movement and reduce congestion on existing routes.

The project also emphasises sustainable and environment-friendly construction practices. Approximately 0.2 million tonne (mn t) of inert material generated from bio-mining of the Okhla and Ghazipur landfills has been utilised in road construction, reducing dependence on natural borrow materials. The scheme includes noise barriers, landscaping and plantation works to mitigate local impacts.

The Centre is proceeding with a series of additional projects intended to make the capital's transport network modern and future-ready. The Ministry has reported involvement in projects worth Rs 130,000 million (mn) and plans to allocate a further Rs 345,000 million (mn) for upcoming works to reduce congestion, pollution and fuel consumption. Planned schemes include a six-lane Urban Extension Road II extension, links to the Delhi–Dehradun and Amritsar–Katra corridors and a tunnel on Shiv Murti to Nelson Mandela Marg, among others.
