Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari inspected the DND–Faridabad–Sohna access-controlled highway project to improve connectivity across the Delhi national capital region and provide faster road access to the Noida International Airport at Jewar. The inspection was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Ministers of State Ajay Tamta, Harsh Malhotra and Krishan Pal Gurjar with senior officials from Delhi and Haryana. Officials said the corridor is being developed as a major infrastructure artery for the region.

Developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, the corridor spans around 59 km and is being delivered at an estimated cost of Rs 44.63 billion (bn). The high-speed six-lane access-controlled highway will link Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurugram and Sohna through a more direct network and is intended to strengthen connections to the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway and the upcoming Jewar airport. Planners said the design aims to reduce travel time and ease congestion across the NCR.

A 140-metre Network Arch Bridge is a key element and uses a tied-arch arrangement with a crossed hanger system to improve durability and seismic resilience. Construction will employ precast segmental methods, launching girders, high-strength E450 steel, Grade 10.9 bolts, swivel expansion joints and high-damping rubber bearings to speed delivery and ensure quality. Sustainability measures reportedly include reuse of around 0.2 million (mn) t of inert material recovered from bio-mining at Okhla and Ghazipur, plus noise barriers and landscaping.

A separate 31.425-km expressway corridor is planned to link the DND–Faridabad bypass with Noida International Airport at Jewar, at an estimated cost of Rs 23.6 billion (bn). The fully access-controlled six-lane route will connect to the Yamuna Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Delhi–Mumbai Expressway and includes four major interchanges, a rail over bridge and a proposed elevated corridor for high-speed traffic. Officials indicated the corridor will support urban expansion under the Faridabad Master Plan 2031 and bolster regional logistics and industry while easing daily commuting.
