Officials said the proposal envisages a bridge linking service roads on both sides of the ORR together with a new service road stretch running alongside the Musi river. They added the measures are intended to strengthen access to Narsingi, Kokapet, the Financial District and adjoining areas.
HGCL has started the process to appoint a project management consultant to prepare the detailed project report, handle pre construction activities, supervise construction and oversee long term maintenance monitoring. The total duration of the consultancy assignment has been fixed at 87 months, comprising three months for the DPR and pre construction, 24 months for construction and 60 months for maintenance supervision.
The consultant will be responsible for surveys, design works, utility coordination, traffic assessment, environmental and technical studies, bid process management and supervision of construction activities. Officials indicated the consultant would also monitor maintenance responsibilities following project completion to ensure sustained operability of the infrastructure.
Authorities consider the proposed bridge and service roads likely to improve last mile connectivity between ORR access points and emerging residential and commercial hubs along the Musi stretch, reducing load on main carriageways. They said the project would provide an alternative traffic corridor parallel to the ORR network and aligns with broader infrastructure planning to support future urban expansion and rising traffic demand in the western corridor.
