He emphasised the need for timely execution and strict compliance with quality standards and urged the adoption of advanced technologies and modern construction practices to promote sustainable, durable and efficient highway infrastructure. The minister noted that robust highway networks are essential for improving connectivity, accelerating economic growth and enhancing commuter convenience across major corridors. Officials were urged to document best practices and share lessons across project teams.
Gadkari instructed officials to implement comprehensive monsoon preparedness measures, including effective drainage management, slope protection works, proactive preventive maintenance and rapid response mechanisms to minimise disruptions. The directives focused on ensuring road safety and enhancing long term asset durability through regular inspections and swift remedial action. Follow-up reviews were requested to monitor implementation and ensure persistent attention to quality and resilience. Emphasis was also placed on coordinating with local administrations and emergency services to facilitate timely clearances and rapid restoration of traffic and public safety.
