The corridor passes through agriculturally rich districts known for banana, cotton, soybean and wheat, and the improved highway is intended to lower transport costs and deliver faster market access for farmers. Villages along the alignment are already seeing improvements in daily life as heavy vehicle movement becomes significantly smoother and local movement suffers fewer delays. Local leaders have noted that damaged surfaces and potholes previously made heavy vehicle movement extremely challenging, and the upgrade is reducing those constraints.
The scheme incorporates one Railway Over Bridge (ROB), seven major bridges, 20 minor bridges and 98 culverts, and provides a total of 14 underpasses including three light vehicle underpasses, five small vehicle underpasses and six vehicular underpasses to maintain village and farm linkages. Planned bypasses of nearly 26 km will divert heavy and through traffic away from towns, while 19 km of service roads are being constructed to ensure safe local movement. These structures are intended to preserve local connectivity and prevent disruption to daily journeys.
The corridor is poised to strengthen inter-state links connecting Indore, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Jalgaon and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and to offer an alternative economic route that will reduce congestion on traditional roads. Access to healthcare and emergency services will improve.
