Under the PWD approvals, construction works will be carried out across five legislative assembly constituencies. In Jhalrapatan in Jhalawar district, 21 roads totalling 51.05 kilometres were sanctioned at Rs300 million (mn), while in Nawalgarh in Jhunjhunu district, 26 roads spanning 31.15 kilometres received Rs100 million (mn). In Bhopalgarh in Jodhpur district, a five-kilometre road was approved at Rs 83 million (mn). Rajgarh-Laxmangarh in Alwar and Jaitaran in Beawar were allocated Rs 100 million (mn) each for 19 roads totalling 33.55 kilometres and 12 roads totalling 31 kilometres, respectively.
Diya Kumari described infrastructure development as the highest priority and framed the approvals as implementation of the budget commitments for 2026-27. She said the works are intended to establish new dimensions of progress and generate opportunities for economic growth in rural areas. The minister indicated that improved road connectivity will enable residents to access government schemes more effectively.
Earlier in May, the PWD approved 77 road construction and upgradation projects valued at more than Rs6.76 billion (bn), part of a wider plan to strengthen the state road network. Those projects are expected to upgrade over 686 kilometres with a focus on state highways, major district roads, local roads and rural roads. The current approvals were presented as complementary to that programme and part of sustained efforts to enhance regional connectivity.
