Residents of Mandabayalu, Karumanchivari Khandriga, Kanuru, Talavayapadu Harijanawada and Avani Apartment had reported that, although a box bridge was built near LA Sagaram, lack of a connecting road severed their direct route. The disruption forced students, farmers and others to travel an additional three kilometres to reach education, agricultural and commercial centres in Naidupeta. Following a representation to Union minister Nitin Gadkari in February, the ministry asked the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to examine the matter.
An inspection on April 12 by NHAI officials found that a traditional cart track between kilometre 54.800 (km 54.800) and kilometre 55.100 had been disrupted by the highway expansion works. The ministry of state for road transport and highways, Ajay Tamta, communicated that construction had commenced on a 550-metre connecting road from km 54.398 near Avani Apartment to the box bridge at km 54.800. The road is expected to restore access to Naidupeta and to facilitate safer movement for local residents.
Officials said the link would reduce risky cross-movements on the highway, improve road safety and significantly cut travel time for villagers reliant on Naidupeta for daily needs. The MP welcomed the clearance and indicated that he would continue to press for infrastructure and connectivity issues with the Centre and in Parliament.
