An additional chief executive officer meeting convened by the Noida Authority brought together senior officials from the Yamuna Authority, the NHAI, the National High Speed Rail Corporation, the Greater Noida Authority and the irrigation department to discuss alignment details. A consultant to the NHAI proposed an alignment extending to Chi-4 and recommended connectivity provisions at three locations along the corridor. Officials reported that land acquisition calculations are under way and that a detailed project report (DPR) is being prepared by the NHAI consultant. Further steps were outlined to coordinate authorisations among the participating agencies.
The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) and the irrigation department inspected the 31 km elevated road site in March to assess feasibility and alignment, after which UPEIDA engaged Almondz Global Infra to conduct a study. The NHAI is expected to submit the DPR within three months, after which land to be acquired will be formally identified and the project will progress to implementation stages. Project planners estimate completion within 24 months once work commences and have indicated that costs will be shared by the Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna authorities.
The elevated corridor is planned to start at Okhla Barrage near Sector 94 and run along the Yamuna embankment before linking to Chi-I on the Yamuna Expressway near Gharbara village, opposite Gautam Buddha University. Planners envisage the route providing direct connectivity from Delhi to the Noida International Airport, reducing travel time and easing congestion on existing expressways. Coordination among multiple agencies will continue as the DPR and land acquisition exercises move forward.
