Nitin Gadkari chaired a review meeting of the National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) in New Delhi where he assessed the status of Multi Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs), ropeway projects, intermodal stations and wayside amenities being developed across the country. The review covered project planning, implementation timelines and coordination among agencies responsible for delivery. He directed a focus on integrating highway corridors with freight and passenger modes to create a modern transport ecosystem.

The Minister said these projects were central to creating a transport network that connects different modes of travel and freight movement more efficiently and that stronger integration between highways and logistics infrastructure would improve regional connectivity while supporting economic growth and industrial development. He noted the expanding network would create new business opportunities and strengthen India as a competitive logistics hub. Officials were asked to prioritise policies that enable private investment and operational synergies.

During the meeting he examined project wise progress and discussed issues delaying implementation and instructed officials and all stakeholders to address pending bottlenecks on a priority basis so construction and development could move ahead without unnecessary delays. He emphasised that timely completion remained essential for realising the intended economic and infrastructure benefits and that faster execution would improve freight transportation efficiency. The review also considered measures to accelerate clearances and streamline procurement.

He said successful completion of MMLPs, ropeways, intermodal stations and modern wayside amenities would reduce transportation costs and improve overall efficiency of the logistics sector and provide better services for commuters on the national highway network. These initiatives form part of the government's broader vision of building a Viksit Bharat and an Aatmanirbhar Bharat by strengthening transport infrastructure, improving connectivity and creating a more efficient logistics ecosystem. The meeting sought to maintain momentum across projects being implemented by NHLML.
