It will assess alignment options, traffic and transport demand, structural and construction feasibility, utility constraints and commercial viability of the integrated corridor. The assessment will evaluate the need for loops, ramp-in and ramp-out facilities, cloverleafs, directional ramps and other road infrastructure. The consultant will prepare a transport model to assess current and future traffic demand and develop conceptual plans for integrating the metro viaduct with road infrastructure. Limited topographical verification will be carried out at critical stretches where required.
The proposed corridor passes through densely urbanised areas including Keshav Puram and several sectors of Rohini and will have to account for existing flyovers, metro structures, utilities, land constraints and busy traffic junctions. As part of the exercise the appointed consultant will conduct traffic volume counts, turning movement surveys, origin-destination studies, public transport surveys and a road network inventory. Speed and delay studies will be included to assess performance under different scenarios and to identify pinch points. The consultant will also prepare concept-level structural assessments, construction feasibility notes and preliminary land requirement estimates.
Indicative project cost estimates and conceptual bills of quantities will be prepared to aid decision making and to provide inputs for subsequent detailed design and procurement phases. The study will explore options to integrate road and metro facilities to ease traffic congestion along the corridor and to optimise land use in constrained urban stretches. Stakeholders will be required to coordinate on utility relocation and land acquisition plans where necessary. The report will present preferred alignment recommendations and an overall feasibility assessment to guide future project planning.
