The DPR will examine long-term traffic management and engineering solutions for one of the busiest transport nodes in the city and will seek to complement the ongoing infrastructure development initiatives in the region. The study is expected to include traffic modelling, scenario analysis and evaluation of measures such as capacity augmentation, signal optimisation, grade separation and improved lane discipline to enable more efficient vehicle movement through the interchange.
The Sarai Kale Khan Loop serves as a strategic convergence point for traffic originating from Ashram, Noida and Sarai Kale Khan, and with the upcoming commissioning of the DND–Sohna corridor the location is expected to witness a substantial increase in traffic volumes, necessitating timely intervention to ensure smooth and efficient traffic movement. The DPR will therefore assess options to reduce travel time, relieve bottlenecks and improve safety for motorists and other road users while maintaining network resilience.
Alongside engineering measures, the report will consider operational changes, phasing of interventions and coordination with local authorities to ensure the operational benefits of the DND–Sohna corridor are fully realised upon commissioning. The output of the DPR is intended to provide a roadmap for implementation, prioritisation and resource allocation so that seamless connectivity at this critical interchange can be achieved in a planned and sustainable manner.
