The scheme covers upgradation of the main road and end-to-end pavement, and includes development of green strips on both sides along the length of the corridor as well as other allied works designed to give the area a modern appearance. The initiative aims to improve connectivity and road safety while enhancing the urban environment for commuters and local residents.
Local leaders and citizens attended the event, with Mandal president Surjeet Singh among those present along with a large gathering of residents, party workers and prominent citizens. The MLA noted that the road had been in a poor and deteriorated condition for a long time and that the intervention would provide a much needed facelift to the important stretch.
Randhawa expressed gratitude to the CEO of Smarty City Jammu for facilitating the project and stressed that coordinated efforts between elected representatives and concerned departments were essential to deliver quality infrastructure and to address genuine problems faced by the public. He reiterated his commitment to strengthen civic infrastructure across the Bahu constituency and listed improvements to roads, drainage, public spaces and sanitation as key priorities.
Residents and party workers welcomed the commencement of work and expressed appreciation that the long pending issue of the poor road condition was being addressed. Implementation and subsequent maintenance of the upgraded corridor will be closely watched by the community as the scheme moves into the execution phase.
