With the Seed Access Road already operational, the state government is now focusing on strengthening alternative connectivity to meet growing traffic and transport requirements as development of the capital gathers pace. The E15 road directly connecting Mangalagiri with Amaravati is progressing rapidly and once completed will provide a direct and convenient route for vehicles approaching Amaravati from the Mangalagiri side. The E13 road from NH-16 via AIIMS to Amaravati is expected to become a key link to the capital.
Further work on the next phase of the Seed Access Road, designated E3, includes a proposed elevated corridor from the Steel Bridge to Manipal Hospital that is expected to improve connectivity to several key locations in the capital region. The E1 road will run parallel to the Seed Access Road with widening of the Karakatta road up to Prakasam Barrage, offering an alternative and easier route between Vijayawada and Amaravati. Officials told the minister that most of the required railway and other clearances will be received shortly.
The minister directed all departments and officials to work in coordination and complete the projects within the stipulated time, and he asked the Guntur collector to take necessary measures to remove any hurdles in construction. The objective is to ensure that Amaravati is not dependent on a single road and that motorists can enter the capital through multiple routes from different directions.
