He said that the Roads and Buildings Department has undertaken extensive macadamisation work on roads across the constituency during the current year and that a review meeting was held with the Chief Engineer and Superintending Engineer to firm up schedules. The Chief Engineer, he said, assured departmental support for development projects and committed resources to prioritised stretches. The MLA also noted that routine pothole repairs are being carried out to maintain passability ahead of monsoon deterioration.
He said that macadamisation and pothole repair work is under way in different areas and that the submitted DPR seeks funding for further road improvement and culvert construction to ensure year round connectivity. The document, he indicated, reflects inputs from local engineers and community surveys and targets both primary links and secondary approaches to market towns. Work timelines were described as phased to allow continued access while resurfacing proceeds.
He further said that a sports stadium has been proposed at Rathsun village and that the government has allocated Rs 25 million (Rs 25 mn) for the project. He said that the proposed road and sports infrastructure projects would help improve connectivity, public facilities and overall development across the constituency and that progress will be monitored through regular reviews. Local officials were urged to coordinate with departmental engineers to fast track clearances and implementation schedules.
