The works involve construction of intermediate lane roads on the Sarli-Huri, Huri-Taliha and Bile-Migging sections in Upper Subansiri and West Siang districts. The largest package is a 78.38 km stretch of the Sarli-Huri section, awarded at a bid cost of Rs 6.111 bn and scheduled for completion within 36 months. Another package covers a 57.525 km stretch of the Huri-Taliha section at a bid cost of Rs 5.25 bn with a 48-month construction period.
Ceigall India-led joint ventures have also secured a Rs 5.21 bn contract for a 55.725 km stretch of the Huri-Taliha section. A further Huri-Taliha package, valued at Rs 4.925 bn, relates to a 49.15 km road, while the fifth package covers a 37.56 km stretch of the Bile-Migging section at Rs 2.741 bn. Officials said the sums allocated reflect terrain challenges and strategic priorities.
The Frontier Highway, designated as NH-913, is intended as a strategic corridor to improve access to villages along Arunachal Pradesh's international border and to strengthen logistical links. The project is being developed in phases through agencies including the state public works department, the Border Roads Organisation and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited. Officials characterised the recent sanctions as a major push for connectivity and regional development.
