Parihar noted that the road had been a long-pending demand of residents of Assar and Ansi and that the new link would benefit thousands by improving access to markets, schools and health services. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his commitment to strengthening rural connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir. Parihar added that rapid development of Doda West remained a priority and that several other road projects under PMGSY and the Public Works Department (PWD) were being taken up on a priority basis.
The event was attended by senior PMGSY officials, local administration figures, party karyakartas and many local residents who accorded a warm welcome. Parihar highlighted various developmental activities undertaken in the remote district during the current central government and reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party government remained committed to providing basic amenities in far-flung areas.
Officials noted that the improved connectivity was expected to stimulate local economic activity by easing transport of agricultural produce and facilitating access to education and health centres. Work on the link road is set to be implemented in phases under the oversight of PMGSY authorities and local engineering teams to ensure timely completion. The project is one of several initiatives intended to integrate remote habitations with main transport corridors. Local stakeholders indicated that the road would reduce travel time and enhance access to services.
