The visit was attended by the MLA from Dibang Valley, the Deputy Commissioners of Roing and Anini, the Executive Director (Projects) of NHIDCL’s Itanagar regional office, the General Manager (Projects) of the Project Management Unit in Roing and other senior officials. The officials examined the status of the works being executed by NHIDCL and reviewed the project’s implementation requirements.
The Roing-Hunli alignment is intended to improve connectivity to Anini, the headquarters of Dibang Valley district, and other remote areas of the region. The project is expected to improve accessibility and support economic and social development by providing a more reliable road link across the difficult terrain.
The inspection also considered construction challenges arising from the area’s mountainous terrain. NHIDCL and other stakeholders reviewed measures to expedite the works and maintain progress towards the project schedule.
According to the schedule reviewed during the visit, the road works are targeted for completion by December 31, 2026. The associated bridge works are scheduled to be completed by March 31, 2027, making them a separate component of the overall construction timeline.
Once completed, the alignment is expected to strengthen road connectivity within Dibang Valley and improve access to Anini. The project forms part of infrastructure efforts aimed at connecting remote parts of Arunachal Pradesh and facilitating movement for residents and local economic activity.
