Under the arrangement, RITES will provide specialised consultancy and technical support to NHIDCL. Its responsibilities will include preparing detailed project reports (DPRs) for highways and tunnels, helping create the technical foundation for project planning and execution.
The consultancy scope will also cover external technical audits and third-party quality assurance. These services are intended to provide independent assessments of project design, construction practices and compliance with specified quality requirements.
RITES will additionally offer Authority Engineering services for highway, tunnel and slope stability projects. Such services will support technical oversight during project development and construction, including assessments related to engineering performance and slope safety.
The companies said the memorandum would strengthen project planning, engineering standards, construction quality and safety across NHIDCL’s infrastructure portfolio. The partnership covers highway and related infrastructure initiatives in the north-east, where terrain and connectivity requirements create significant planning and construction challenges. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
