The works will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), which the state is using for municipal projects for the first time. Of the total investment, projects valued at Rs. 74.69 bn will be taken up across Andhra Pradesh, while Rs. 38.9 bn has been allocated to the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation area.
The project package includes road construction worth Rs. 46.56 bn. It also provides Rs. 880 mn for central medians, Rs. 2.47 bn for street lighting and Rs. 5.09 bn for parks. The works are intended to improve civic infrastructure across the participating municipalities.
Naidu also inaugurated halts for two trains at Kuppam on Monday. The services were identified as the Dadar-Puducherry and Vasco Da Gama-Velankini trains, taking the number of train services with halts at Kuppam to 59.
The chief minister said the state would continue seeking additional halts at the station. He also outlined plans to develop Kuppam, the constituency he represents, as an economic and tourism hub and to improve its links with other locations. The foundation-laying programme is part of the state government’s broader municipal infrastructure effort, with the HAM mechanism being introduced to support the execution of the works across multiple districts.
