The Kikrüma Students’ Union (KSU), an affiliated unit of the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU), has reaffirmed its support for the CSU’s position on the ongoing NH 29 Two-Lane Kohima–Jessami Road Project, Package-II. In a statement issued on September 29, the KSU said it continued to stand by decisions taken by its parent organisation on the matter.

The KSU said its position reflected its organisational affiliation and the responsibility of an affiliated unit to support collective decisions concerning the welfare and interests of the people. It added that it would extend cooperation and solidarity to the CSU in line with the parent union’s decisions and directives.

The union also clarified that independent actions or decisions by other individuals, groups or institutions should not be treated as a withdrawal of its support for the CSU. According to the statement, the KSU’s position remained unchanged in relation to the CSU’s course of action concerning the national highway project.

The KSU reiterated its solidarity with the CSU and its legitimate course of action on the issue. At the same time, it said it remained committed to maintaining dignity, discipline and mutual respect among all institutions and stakeholders involved. The statement did not provide further details about the specific matter or the decisions already adopted by the CSU.
